We are officially a Christian & Missionary Alliance Church

Pastor Brady Huneycutt

After working in the private sector for ten years as a programmer / analyst and being Dr. Brady Huneycutt involved in various church related positions, I was restless with my job and in the Christian life. After marrying Joanna in 1983 we desired to have children but were not able to conceive and this added to my frustration. Through various events we were able to adopt our first child from Romania. This event changed our lives forever. Specifically, I realized that God could be trusted with every aspect of life. Therefore, after much prayer and counsel, I committed my life to serving Him in full time vocational ministry.

Upon returning from Romania, I prepared myself to further my education. By God's grace I graduated Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. with a Master of Divinity degree in 1996. From this juncture, we moved our family to Guilford County and began to pastor a local church. During that time I completed my Doctorate of Ministry Degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

As time went by, I saw people come to Christ but I did not see the family grow and mature in the Lord. Obviously, there were various reasons for this but the crux of the problem, as I saw it, was with the men and especially the fathers. I began to analyze my own life to see if I was being the godly example to my family. Honestly, I was coming up short and needed to make some critical adjustments in "doing" family if my children were going to have a biblical example to follow. Furthermore, I believed the "traditional" model of doing church was more anti-family due to segregation. This segregation further diluted the influence of the parents over their children.

Therefore, Legacy's approach to doing and being church is integrated and thus promotes and enhances the biblical authority and responsibility of the parents toward their children. Legacy's goal is the biblical nurturing of the family beginning with the fathers. This is accomplished by the faithful exposition and responsible application of God's Word so that we might truly leave a godly legacy for our children and grandchildren to follow.

Blessings,

Brady Huneycutt
